Holly's leadership story is not built on titles alone. She has launched companies, guided turnarounds, shaped federal public policy, and led Athena's rise as a global force for women in STEM.
Her deepest authority was forged when breast cancer hacked the body's code. It quietly stripped away every illusion of control. Particularly, the version of confidence built on performance, productivity, and promotion. In that unraveling, she came face to face with a harder truth: when life breaks open, borrowed confidence does not hold you.
What emerged was a choice to stop outsourcing her worth to circumstances. A choice to trust herself again and lead from truth instead of armor. That season invited the painful work of reclaiming confidence from the inside out. Any performance, polish, or borrowed validation was futile. Pure choice is the invitation available to us all.
